We’re the Griggs!

Since 1937,

our family has been working to bring fresh produce to dinner tables all over the globe.

Beginning with a tent on the corner of the land we now call home, Walter and Emma Grigg settled to break ground as some of the first farmers to the Quincy Valley in rural Washington State.

The family farm started as a dairy. Yet as Walt and Emma’s son, Lorin, grew up, so, too, did the farm grow beyond its cow barns. The Valley began to develop into the breadbasket of the Northwest, and circle irrigation allowed the Griggs to venture into producing hay, sugar beets, potatoes, and sweet corn.

Soon enough, Lorin and his wife, Roberta, grew their own family by their two children, Lorin, Jr. and Kelly. Eventually, Lorin, Jr. was old enough to work the land and helped bring about the farm’s largest shift yet - onions.

In 1991, the father-son duo planted their first test crop, with much success. And so, the once small dairy that grew out of a small tent became the Grigg Farms we now know - one of the largest packers and shippers of Washington onions, with the land continuing to be worked by the family’s 4th generation.

If there’s one lesson the Grigg’s farm story tells, its that farming is a lifestyle - one of faith, of family, and of farming.

Great-Grandpa Walt and Great-Grandma Emma had a vision to feed America when they moved out West. And it is our honor to keep bringing that dream to life.
